Match report by Dave Hawtin
In front of another very impressive home attendance on Saturday afternoon, visiting Tooting and Mitcham were put to the sword in the first 22 minutes of the game.
Goals from Owen Tanner, Darnell Macdonald and Scott Sanderson within that period somewhat finished this game as a contest.
With the comfortable lead secured Alton dominated possession for the rest of the game rarely allowing the visitors a clear site of goal.
With the points in the bag, manager Kev Adair was able to unload his substitutes bench making all 5 changes that are available to him possibly, mindful of the Easter Monday lunchtime fixture at Tadley.
The momentum was maintained throughout the game and two of those substitutes put the icing on the cake in the later stages.
Luke Perkins on his return from long term injury helped himself to a goal and then battled his way to the byline to cut the ball back for Owen Lumsden who belted the ball home from 15 yards off of his left foot for a spectacular finish to the game.
